Management / Business

Coordinate people, money, and operations — marketing, finance, consulting, product, or your own firm. UG is often BBA/B.Com; MBA is a later multiplier, not a must at 18.

Salary outlook

Indicative: BBA/B.Com entry roles ₹3–6 LPA; IIM / top B-school MBA averages ₹18–30+ LPA; mid-tier MBAs ₹6–12 LPA. Analytics and finance roles trend higher than generalist ones.

Indicative ranges. Actuals vary by city, employer, specialisation and years of experience.

Typical path in India

  1. 1After 12th: B.Com (Hons) / BBA via CUET or university tests; IPMAT for IIM Indore/Rohtak 5-year IPM.
  2. 2Work 1–3 years if you want a strong MBA later — CAT / XAT / GMAT.
  3. 3Campus roles: sales, ops, finance analyst, HR, product — then specialise.

Skills that matter

  • Numbers enough to read a P&L
  • Presenting and writing clearly
  • Internships that show you shipped something, not only attended workshops

Who this fits

  • You like organising people and plans more than a single deep technical craft
  • You can delay the ‘MBA identity’ until you know which function you enjoy

Watch-outs

  • A pricey, low-tier MBA can take years to pay back.
  • BBA without internships is a weak signal — the degree alone does not place you.

Where to study

Most management / business pathways start in the Management & Commerce stream.
