Teacher / lecturer
Teach in schools (B.Ed + TET) or colleges (master’s + NET). The work is lesson design, assessment, and a lot of unseen prep.
Salary outlook
Indicative: government school teachers follow pay commissions (often ₹5–10 LPA with allowances); private schools ₹2.5–8 LPA; assistant professors on UGC scales ~₹8–12 LPA early.

Typical path in India
- 1UG in the subject you want to teach (CUET UG is the usual national route).
- 2Schools: B.Ed, then CTET or state TET; KVS/NVS have their own recruitments.
- 3Colleges: master’s, then UGC NET; Ph.D helps for permanent academic posts.

Watch-outs
- Private-school pay can be poor; government jobs are the stability play and are competitive.
