NEET-UG 2026 has a few process-level changes you should plan for, even if the syllabus is largely unchanged.
What's different in 2026
- Aadhaar eKYC is now mandatory at the application stage. Keep your Aadhaar-mobile linking active.
- Live photo capture happens during submission and is cross-matched with your Aadhaar photo. Use a plain background and avoid filters.
- Exam centres are allotted based on your permanent or present address. Fill the latter carefully โ it directly decides your travel.
- Exam date: 3 May 2026, 2:00 pm โ 5:00 pm.
- Fee deadline: 8 March 2026 (up to 11:50 pm). Correction window: 10โ12 March 2026.
A realistic last-month plan
30 days out, new chapters will hurt more than help. Use the time to squeeze your existing prep.
- Week 1 โ audit. Take one full-length test. Make a list of the 5 chapters where you lost the most marks.
- Week 2 โ plug leaks. Spend 2 full days on each weak chapter. Revise NCERT lines first, then do one previous-year paper of just that chapter.
- Week 3 โ tests. One full-length test every other day. Between tests, review only the wrong answers.
- Week 4 โ taper. No new problems. Revision sheets, formulas, diagrams, and sleep. Yes, actual sleep.
Three quiet mistakes to avoid
1. Changing the 11th-hour strategy. Stick to one test series and one formula book. 2. Skipping Biology for Physics. Biology is 360 marks. Do not trade it for 10 marks of Physics. 3. Ignoring admit card + center logistics. Download the admit card, print two copies, and rehearse the travel route a day before.
Good luck โ and remember, one exam is not one lifetime. Keep a Plan B: BDS, AYUSH, BPharm, Nursing and Veterinary are all serious, well-paying paths in India.
